The fire department is made up of firefighter/EMT and firefighter/paramedics. Candidates certified as paramedics with the State of Georgia or National Registered will be considered first. The department is also hiring a core of part time firefighters to work on shifts, fill in as needed, and be available for call backs. The minimum qualifications for full time or part time employment is certified firefighter and EMT.
All candidates for employment must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18 years of age, pass a background check, be drug free, possess a valid driver’s license, and have no criminal history. The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree or be actively working towards one.
