A 1839 Plantation - Stately Oaks Plantation is a Greek Revival antebellum home in the land of "Gone with the Wind." The plantation grounds are home to the main house, country store, old school house, cook house and much more.
Noah's Ark - Animal Sanctuary
Founded by Jama Hedgecoth, the original Noah’s Ark opened in 1978 in Ellenwood, GA. Named for the biblical Noah’s Ark, which represented a vessel of safety in the midst of danger, Hedgecoth’s ark was built to shield children and animals from today’s floods of abuse and neglect. The care of wildlife can be a lengthy and complex process depending on the species and the extent of injuries. If injuries are so debilitating that the animal cannot be released, it will stay at Noah’s Ark for the remainder of its life in as natural a habitat as possible. Hedgecoth outgrew her small farm in Ellenwood in 1990 and moved her family – and all the animals – to Locust Grove. The current facility of Noah’s Ark is 250 acres and encompasses an animal rehabilitation center, training and administration building, nature trails and countless natural habitats for the more than 1,000 animals on site.

Newman Wetlands Center is a unique wetlands and environmental education facility. The Center is host to interesting exhibits and a boardwalk trail that takes you through a wetland full of exciting wildlife and plant species.

International Park - The Beach
Near to Morrow you will find Atlanta Beach. The Beach at Clayton County International Park is Atlanta's "park inside a park". Offering a variety of recreational activities that will keep your friends and family entertained all year long. In addition to The Beach, water park and concert facilities are open during the summer season. The park provides acres of fishing lakes, picnics areas, and bike trails for year round family entertainment. Site of the 1996 Olympic Beach volleyball tournament, The Beach has a world class beach volleyball venue.

Reynolds Nature Preserve
W. H. Reynolds Memorial is a 146 acre nature preserve located in the heart of Clayton County in Morrow, GA. The land, preserved in its native state, is a perfect example of rolling hills in the Piedmont region of Georgia. With over 3 miles of hiking trails a visitor can explore the highest ridges in the county in a mixed oak-hickory-pine forest down to the wetlands and ponds fed by natural springs. Also take the opportunity to step back in time and admire old farm equipment, spring houses, and a barn dating back to 1867. Don't forget to stop in the Nature Center to see the live animals, environmental displays or just to talk to a ranger!
